Sensei Chelsea Sydes heads up the Pro-karate academy in the Hertfordshire and Essex region. She has been training in martial arts since she was 5 years old and is 3rd Dan black belt in Karate. Chelsea has been running Pro-karate Academy for 5 years but has been teaching karate since she was 19. She has competed on both National and International levels winning many medals and trophies along the way. Chelsea is numerous National and British champion in the 14 years Chelsea competed in Kumite (fighting). Chelsea has also competed overseas in various international competitions, taking numerous medals in such locations as The Czech Republic, Ireland,Sweden, New York and Italy to name a few.
Chelsea has represented the England karate team in the senior ladies -50kg section on a number of occasions. She has a lot of fighting knowledge and experience and now is coaching her own students to National and International Level.
Chelsea has been teaching Karate on a full-term basis for 10 years and previous to that was an assistant instructor for four years. Chelsea coaching has seen first ever student recently competing at the European championships and placing 5th.
She is fully qualified and insured to teach martial arts and is also a qualified first aider. In addition to the traditional Karate syllabus Chelsea also teaches sport karate (Competition Karate) on a regular basis. Chelsea is also qualified to teach a bronze level of Fit2Fite (martial arts techniques rhythmically synchronised to music to create an aerobic experience)
Chelsea is always looking to help and develop young students that are keen and have an interest in karate just like she did and help them on their journey to black belt.
